Have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist. Volunteers for trials wanted (26/05/08)
Project Title: A double-blind placebo-controlled trial of the impact of Escitalopram on mood and pain symptoms in fibromyalgia.
The trial will be conducted in Melbourne and recruitment for the trial has now commenced and will close September 2008.
To be eligible for the trial you must:
1. Have fibromyalgia diagnosed by a rheumatologist.
2. Be less than 70 years of age.
3. Live in the Melbourne-metropolitan area (or be prepared to travel to Caulfield for the assessment sessions).
4. Be willing to attend four 20 minute assessment sessions (at the start, middle and completion of the trial).
5. Be willing to fill out questionnaires (prior to and during the trial: this requires that you can read and write in English).
6. Be willing to take the trial medication for 12 weeks.
