The Joint Movement

Arthritis Australia is proud to introduce The Joint Movement– an exercise program to assist adults living with or at risk of developing arthritis to safely make exercise a part of their everyday lives.

The evidence is loud and clear: simple strengthening exercises completed regularly, can and will help those living with the effects of arthritis. That is why Arthritis Australia, in conjunction with health and fitness experts, have developed – The Joint Movement® – safe exercise classes that offers both warm water and strength training exercise.

All participants will be required to undergo a pre-exercise assessment performed by an ESSA accredited exercise physiologist (AEP) registered with The Joint Movement®

Participants will attend twice weekly group exercise sessions over a 10 week period, led by a specially trained and licensed Joint Movement Leader.

A follow-up assessment at week 10 is administered by the AEP to ascertain the level of improvement in arthritis related symptoms, functional ability and perceived quality of life. Ongoing exercise participation is encouraged
