Share your story – Research Australia Project

Arthritis Australia is conducting a project, working with Research Australia, to understand the breadth and depth of arthritis research currently being undertaken in Australia, with a view to develop an overall strategy and improving outcomes for consumers.

One vital component of our project is to understand the needs of consumers. We are inviting consumers to participate in a 1 ½ hour online discussion to explore the unmet needs of people with lived experience of rheumatoid arthritis and or/juvenile arthritis, and opportunities for future research.

The rheumatoid arthritis session will take place on Tuesday, 15 February 2022 at 1:30pm – 3:00pm

The osteoarthritis session will take place on Tuesday, 22 February 2022 at 1:30pm – 3:00pm

The juvenile arthritis session will take place on Wednesday 23 February 2022 at 1:30pm – 3:00pm

The discussion will be based upon your personal lived experience with arthritis; as someone who has been diagnosed with arthritis or someone who cares for someone living with arthritis. We want to hear from you about where you think more research into arthritis is needed. The discussion will be facilitated by researchers from BehaviourWorks Australia, a research unit based at Monash University.

Your participation in this discussion will involve talking about your personal experiences with arthritis with others who also have lived experience. All those attending the session will be asked to have their video camera on, preventing your image from remaining anonymous. The session will be recorded. The recording will be transcribed, and the de-identified notes will be used to inform the findings of the study.
