Funding to help reduce pain of arthritis
More than three million Australians with arthritis stand to benefit from today’s announcement of new government funding for an exercise initiative and enhanced online support tools to help people with arthritis to better manage their condition, according to Arthritis Australia.
“We know that exercise can really help to reduce pain and improve mobility for people with arthritis”, said Ainslie Cahill, CEO of Arthritis Australia, welcoming the announcement by Health Minister Tanya Plibersek. “Exercise also helps with weight loss, which is critically important if you have arthritis, as every kilo of weight you lose takes four kilos of loading off your knee joints,” she said.
