Investing in Impactful Arthritis Research

We commissioned Research Australia to develop a consumer driven national strategy for arthritis research. This included a detailed review of Australia’s arthritis research landscape including the funding allocations historically, and trends in meeting contemporary population needs and expectations.

Priority areas were identified through a research gap analysis, alignment to the National Strategic Action Plan for Arthritis and input from over 100 consumers living with arthritis (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis).

The findings and recommendations from this review were launched at Parliament House, Canberra in November 2022, aiming to galvanise a strategic and collaborative approach to research that is meaningful to people living with arthritis.
