Accessible Design Division
Accessibility is about designing products and packaging to be easy to use by consumers with the widest range of abilities, which then adds value to a product for all users.
Arthritis Australia’s Accessible Design Division is dedicated to educating and providing decision-making resources to both industry and government at the design and procurement level, ensuring that the needs and capabilities of the broader community are recognised and understood. The Division offers several testing services to meet client’s needs along the design process as well as Ease of Use Certification for products and Easy to Open Certification for packaging.
The Division collaborates with Dr. Brad Fain, who has more than two decades of experience in human factors engineering and design, as a Principal Research Scientist at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and founder of the Intuitive Design Applied Research Institute. As a world-leading researcher in accessibility, his knowledge and testing methodology guide the Divisions work.
